I'm finding that using a screen resolution of anything wider than 1680 creates bars on either side of the game, in which the background is replaced by black, sometimes flickering to white.
I've checked several resolutions, and it seems to only occur if the horizontal size is greater than 1680.
I had made no adjustments to settings before the bars appeared, and they have been there from the moment I entered the tutorial. Returning to the main menu and starting a new game has the same result, as well as using different save slots.
I've also been finding some strange events with laser attacks. When adding the optic lens to my wand there have been various unexpected results.
The use of the Optic Lens, Quicksilver Gear and Magic Boomerang seem to have removed the visual appearance by default, before going to the artist.
After going to the Artist I found this only occurred when the Magic Boomerang was the active visual effect.
Using only the Optic Lens, I found that the length of the beam could reach well off of the visible game area. I can't tell if this is intentional, but if so then the Quicksilver Gear is seemingly useless, as aiming at a target off-screen is too difficult to employ effectively.
Adding the stone to the wand drastically shortens the length of the visual effect for the beam, though the hitbox does not seem to be affected.
Finally, adding the Chaos Butterfly to the beam makes the effect truly... Well, chaotic. I'm not really sure how to explain it, so have a look.
All of these effects have occurred with F grade materials, and I am not able to test higher grades. There are many combinations that I have not tested, but suffice to say that the beams are a bit janky.
